About Me
I'm Shanto Islam - an engineer who'd rather be known for how I think than for a list of tools.
The short version
A full-stack and AI engineer who learns what a problem needs and ships it. I'm most at home in the backend and at the system-design level, I think like a product person, and I build AI that people can actually depend on.
How I got here
I grew up in Nazipur, a small town in Naogaon, in the Rajshahi division of Bangladesh - born in early 2002. I studied Mathematics at university, but the real education started at fifteen, when technology quietly took over most of my time. I tried a lot, broke a lot, and kept going. Passion alone doesn't make you professional, though, so I chose software engineering as the craft to take seriously - and I've been sharpening it ever since.
How I work
Most people lead with the languages they know. I lead with the problem. When something specific is needed, I learn it and use it - on demand, without ceremony. That adaptability is the whole point: I'm the person you can rely on when things are ambiguous or on fire, because I can think, decide, and adapt rather than wait for a familiar shape to appear.
Where I go deep
On the backend I'm fluent in the modern TypeScript, Go, and Python world, and I understand the JavaScript runtime and its ecosystem intimately - down to how build tools and bundlers actually work. I design databases and systems for how they'll behave under real load, not just how they read on day one. I care about product and UX because software is for people. I can carry DevOps at a solid mid level. And I understand the machine underneath - how networks, protocols, operating systems, and the boot path fit together - well enough to reason from first principles when I need to.
On AI
AI isn't a bolt-on for me. I understand how models work, and I've built real projects with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, and agentic systems - including designing and running MCP servers. My aim is always the same: turn the capability into something dependable, not a demo that impresses once and breaks under weight.
